Lecture
Over the past five or six years in particular, the changes
accelerated, based on the trends introduced by technology. The
consumers were the first to embrace them; the clients followed in
their footpath, leaving the agencies to catch up with the clients.
And vice versa, in any combination you can think of. The balls are
all in the air right now. The walls between disciplines are coming
down fast and some have already been torn down. The traditional ATL
agencies are now fighting over the same projects against BTL
agencies, sales promotion agencies or digital agencies, even
management consultants! Digital space is the first ever metamedium
that has ever existed, which means that it now belongs to no one,
and everyone, at the same time. All that has led to great
changes in the way both clients and agencies function. And all that
is driven by trends that need to be understood. As well as by huge
shifts in topics. From the "glamorous monologue" to dialogue; from
brand propaganda to the triumph of transparency; from trusting the
authorities to trusting "people like me"; from the domination of a
handful of the key media (TV, for instance) to the proliferation of
the platforms; from the "brands as nouns" to "brands as verbs";
from consuming the media in one's living room to place-shifting and
time-shifting. Plus several other changes as well. Find out what
it's all going to be about, in greater detail, by attending Lazar's
lecture.
